Searching for silence
I enjoyed this article, little long for my taste but it was very knowledgeable and I really did like this guy's hunt for? “Muzijevic, mindful of the natural setting, chose not to use a mechanical timepiece; instead, he counted off the seconds in his head. Technology intruded all the same, in the form of a car stereo from somewhere nearby. A solitary bird in the trees struggled to compete with the thumping bass.” The weather was perfectly still as if it was commanded. “The audience stayed perfectly still. For about a minute, we sat in deep, full silence.” Crack the piano goes, then after John Cage leaves the show? He writes a book called “NO SUCH THINGS AS SILENCE.” Cage was ruled by the natural music of silence/nature. (Cage)“An act of framing, of enclosing environmental and unintended sounds in a moment of attention in order to open the mind to the fact that all sounds are music.” So he decided he wanted to live without inherited structures, and open doors to the entire world. (Gann writes), “It begged for a new approach to listening, perhaps even a new understanding of music itself, a blurring of the conventional boundaries between art and life.” I knew the satisfaction of the silence in the woods. Music all around you every day, and growing up in the mountains and I strongly agree that nature is the best beauty and voice. I am still having trouble dictating between silence and nature. Silence is what you're doing, but you're not experiencing that. You're experiencing all the wildlife. I feel like this also strongly connects to the adobe audition project because nature creates are harmoney from all sounds just as we are in the project.
